:: about the designer :: Mollie Parnis was the designer to The First Ladies of the White House from the 1950s - 1980s, as well as New York society women. In 1970 she launched her high end boutique line creating custom couture dresses designed by Morty Sussman and Hubert Latimer. In 1984, Parnis closed her Seventh Avenue showroom at a time when her dresses were selling for $350 - $1,500, which today roughly calculates between $800 - $4,000.
